Being an Asian-Canadian artist to me, means constantly defying people’s expectations of me. From the way that I speak, the things that I say, the way I arrive in spaces and my contributions, I am so proud to bring my unique point of view to the table. Being Asian-Canadian, and claiming this identity, we celebrate each other and the legacy that is being built. I have so much hope for us – we encapsulate so many rich stories and my greatest joy is discovering what we can do together and how we will grow and change as time goes on. I am proud of my peers, colleagues and friends who have always advocated for others, and have taken the time to cheer US on!
